Comgate offers security and redundancy with the Comgate 4G/5G Backup SIM card. This guarantees that you are always online and that you remain online even if the fixed internet connection has a breakdown. Thanks to this backup solution, your company can continue to work as usual, you can still be reached by telephone and customers can still pay by debit card. We offer 2 different backup plans; via the KPN network or via the T-Mobile network. Instead of an upgrade to 5G, these SIM cards are standard 5G and backwards compatible with 4G.
This subscription is also very suitable for primary internet applications where the data consumption fits within this bundle, and where the solution is managed in the router or device. For example for internet for routers with WiFi for ATMs, digital signage, internet for cash register system or tablets.
Managed or unmanaged variant
“Comgate 4G/5G Back-up NL” is available as a managed M2M/IoT data subscription via the KPN network and as an unmanaged variant via the T-Mobile network. The KPN 4G/5G Backup SIM includes Comgate Cisco Jasper management portal and additional network services. For both the 4G/5G KPN Back-up SIM and the T-Mobile Back-up SIM card, you get a data bundle of 6,50GB for the Netherlands for only € 5 per month. All connected SIM cards also automatically and free of charge form a group bundle (pooled), so that the data consumption is distributed over all SIM cards. Both Backup SIM propositions are available as a retail and wholesale variant.

4G Backup plan – How does it work?
The subscription includes a router with a failover function. With this function, the internet connection can be received via a fixed line (WAN port) as well as via 4G (SIM card). The router will automatically switch to another Internet connection if the main connection fails. For example to 4G if the fixed internet line goes down, or vice versa. As soon as the main connection is working again, the router switches back to it as quickly as possible, this is called fallback. The handy thing about the included 4G failover router is that you can insert two SIM cards, each from a different provider, for extra security. If one connection does not work, you can use the other 4G connection.
As an extension of our service, Comgate offers additional Service Level Agreements for all mobile internet packages. The different levels describe the additional quality of service between Comgate and you as a partner. Comgate uses three levels of Service Level Agreement for this service:
As standard, you purchase the SLA: Office Hours with the 4G Backup package. For a small additional cost, you can upgrade the SLA to Next Business Day or Always Online. This way you can be sure that you always receive the best service at any time!
