CleanJack uses IoT data sims for time registration for cleaning companies

CleanJack's CEO Niels van den Berg has traveled all over the world to introduce CleanJack to various cleaning companies. CleanJack is a time registration system especially for cleaning companies. One of the most important elements in the service is '24 x 7 transparency'. The registration system is easy to use and offers a suitable solution for every location and situation with a wall terminal, a hand terminal or an App. An IoT data sim from Comgate for international use is used for the terminals. Comgate asked Niels about his experiences in the cleaning industry.

How is the cleaning industry characterized worldwide?

“Cleaning is top sport. Competition is everywhere and margins are thin. To make some money, the work has to be organized super efficiently. It is therefore important that cleaning companies have a grip on business processes and gain more insight into costs and revenues. Digitization is indispensable here.

One of the most important lessons for CleanJack when visiting international customers was that we needed to make the solution widely applicable and easy to use. So that everyone can immediately use it in different cleaning environments, as simply and efficiently as possible!

In order to facilitate companies in different countries, we work together with distributors. These can be suppliers of cleaning products and materials. Parties that want to innovate, understand cleaning, have an affinity with digitization and have a strong national distribution network in the cleaning industry. We are currently looking for partners in Germany and the United Kingdom.”

Why would a cleaning company want to do business with a (foreign) supplier like CleanJack?

“The system is a joint production of hundreds of cleaning companies from all over the world. Ultimately, it is about which company has the most knowledge of ICT and cleaning. The system is accessible from anywhere via the cloud. It does not matter where a cleaning company is located. In addition, CleanJack only has cleaning companies as customers. The feedback from cleaning companies determines the development agenda of CleanJack. In this way, cleaning companies are assured of a system that fits seamlessly into daily cleaning practice and they do not have to reinvent the wheel. Because so many cleaning companies already use the CleanJack system, the rates are low”.

How does the CleanJack work?

“Cleaners, managers and customers have access to the CleanJack portal in the cloud. Cleaners can see their schedules, tasks and hours worked. Managers make the schedule, monitor the process and can easily send messages to cleaners and customers. Customers can give feedback and make their wishes known in the CleanJack portal. With this “digital logbook” you know exactly what the points of attention are per location.

A CleanJack terminal is easy to install at the work locations. Cleaners register here with a key ring. In the display they see the tasks of the day and messages from the customer or the cleaning manager. Cleaners only need a key ring: it couldn't be easier.

If there are many small locations, the cleaner gets a CleanJack App on the phone. At small locations, start and stop stickers are placed on which they record their start and end times. Messages are shown when logging in and out of the location.

Can you explain how data is sent to and received from the devices?

The terminals and the Apps are connected 4 x 24 to the CleanJack portal in the cloud via 7G mobile networks. For the terminals we use a datasim from Comgate. The international character of Comgate and the short lines of communication are nice. The connectivity solutions enable managers to monitor the operational process and make immediate adjustments if necessary.”

 

How do you see the future of digitization in the cleaning industry?

“We are currently seeing important developments such as further system integration, application of sensor technology, artificial intelligence, robotization, etc.

Systems are increasingly interconnected via secure web services. Think, for example, of linking ERP systems, building management systems or payroll systems with a cleaning management system. For a cleaning company it is important to keep a grip on cleaning management. CleanJack can be easily linked to other systems by means of an API.

 

By measuring the usage frequencies of buildings, cleaning can be intelligently adjusted to this. For example, sensors measure the number of visitors to washrooms, an entrance, and an elevator. In soap dispensers, sensors indicate when topping up is required. The information from sensors is integrated with smart dynamic planning systems such as CleanJack. It helps cleaners to do their job optimally in a smart way. Where possible, robots will be able to take over some of those tasks. The work of cleaners will shift in the coming years, but in the end it will remain primarily people's work”.
